Description
Some closures need the instruction spelled out completely. This sign carries the full message — sidewalk closed, use opposite sidewalk — with a directional arrow, so pedestrians know both what has changed and exactly where to go. Set in the MUTCD work-zone format that New York City DOT expects at construction closures, it removes the guesswork that leads to people walking through your work zone or stepping into the roadway between parked cars.
This is an aluminum-only sign, and that’s deliberate: it’s built for closures that stay up. We print it at our NYC facility in 12″ × 24″ and 24″ × 48″ sizes on 0.40 or 0.63 aluminum, with Engineer-Grade or High-Intensity reflective faces that return light to headlights and streetlights after dark. Add the Seton UltraTuff overlaminate and the printed face resists scratching, taping, and repeated cleaning for the life of the closure.
Ordering takes only a few minutes: choose size, gauge, reflectivity, and lamination, and the sign arrives drilled-ready for posts, fences, barricades, or sidewalk sheds. Delivery across the five boroughs and Long Island runs 2–3 business days, with 24-hour rush available on most signs when the closure can’t wait.
Volume pricing and contractor accounts are available for operators running closures at multiple sites. Post our Sidewalk Closed Sign Ahead Cross Here upstream of this sign and pedestrians will already be on the correct side before they reach your fence.

FAQ
What’s the difference between 0.40 and 0.63 aluminum? 0.63 is the heavier, stiffer gauge — choose it for larger sizes, post mounting, or high-wind exposure. 0.40 handles standard fence and barricade mounting well.
Which arrow direction will I receive? The sign is produced with the directional arrow as shown on the product image. Tell us your site layout when ordering and we’ll confirm the orientation fits your closure.
